MS Basemaps
« on: March 04, 2010, 09:12:09 AM »

Hey all,
I have dug around a bit and am wondering if there is a depot source for basemaps for the Megasquirt, I have my megasquirt already ( had one laying around unassembled ) and getting ready to assemble and test here shortly but was wondering if there were actualy basemaps out there or if people were basing everything off of the posted fuel and timing maps.

just trying to save a little work for myself :p

thanks guys.

There is a startup map for mine on the diypnp website, along with a few others for different vehicles.  It won't save you that much time though.  The MS software is pretty easy to work with.  I initially ran thru the setup routine native to the software.  It walks you thru all the setup screens and you fill in the engine parameters.  All pretty basic info about the engine except for some specifics to fire the VAST ignition.  I filled in the blanks, wrote it to the ECU, and turned the key...  That map I uploaded will start and run safely, but will need tuning...

ok thanks,
Im well aware that the tuning will have to happen, which is really a non issue ( I have a dyno ) . I was just trying to save some setup time is all.
Goal is to get this running on the stock config ( short of the GM IAT ) and once I have a really well sorted base map Ill go through and change the injectors/turbo etc out.

thanks for the help.

Nate,
It's important to note which injectors you have - there were 2 varieties of 22RTE injectors.  The 22RE has different flow injectors, and adding 440cc injectors seems to be pretty common as well.

For "basemaps" to work with MS, you guys need to tell us:
1) What your injectors are in terms of flow rate.
2) Your fuel constant.

The fuel maps should be posted as VEX files, not MSQ.

If find base tuning maps very helpful.. post em up..

Note there is already a dyno/turning thread where you can see fuel curves.

Yea I was looking at that thread beforehand, and planned to use that as an idea if I couldnt find a base map.

I need to get under the hood and figure out which injectors I have exactly, but will be going to at least a set of 440's ( prob more honestly as I will be putting a gt28 on, I really want to setup for E85 but dont know if I want to rebuild the entire fuel system for it )
